The House

Most fragrance buyers are made to choose. Western perfumery offers structure and abstraction, named in a language that is not theirs. Arabian perfumery offers oud, amber and bakhoor, generous and warm, but travels abroad as a regional curiosity. Zefeq carries both as native lines of one house.

The Atelier

Five classical structures — powdery floral, aldehydic floral, fougère, chypre, cologne — in a heavy block of clear glass with a lacquered column cap. Built on the costliest materials in the range: orris butter, which is dried for three years before it can be distilled, Rose de Mai picked by hand over three weeks in May, and Grasse jasmine. 75 ml, except the cologne, which takes 100, because a cologne is splashed and not rationed.

The Majlis

Ten scents named in Arabic for things a Gulf childhood actually contains. Nasma is the breeze through an open house at dusk. Matar is petrichor, the smell of first rain on dry ground. Ghaf is the national tree, the one you shelter under. Qahwa is cardamom, coffee and a Medjool date. A round bottle sprayed from the shoulder into a clear base, 100 ml, each under its own cap of stone, ash wood, walnut, porcelain, blown glass, pearl or machined metal.

What the house stands for

Two literacies, one house. Neither line is a translation of the other. Every carton carries both scripts, in every market we sell in.

Made in the UAE, printed not hidden. The Gulf has the highest fragrance spend per person on earth and direct access to the materials. Origin goes on the front of the carton as a credential.

Legible honesty. Full notes, true concentration and true volume on every pack, in both scripts. No “inspired by”, no dupes, no borrowed names — fifteen original compositions.

Priced to be finished. A bottle is for wearing, not for a shelf.
